A CSR Conclave 2026 was held at TEA under the chairmanship of Dr. Narnavare Manish Shankarrao, IAS, District Collector, Tiruppur. The conclave focused on CSR support for education, healthcare, rural development and social welfare, and the website of the Tiruppur District Welfare Society was officially launched.
Mrs. Vani Eswari, Project Director, District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Tiruppur, requested industries to utilise CSR funds for rural development, particularly in waste management, drinking water and the adoption of schools and village panchayats.
Mr. N. Thirukkumaran, General Secretary, TEA, highlighted that the TEA Trust has contributed over Rs. 93.82 lakh during the past two years towards education, healthcare, disaster relief, police welfare and environmental initiatives.
Mr. K. M. Subramanian, President, TEA, urged industries to adopt village panchayats and support infrastructure development. He also stated that TEA aims to enrol 200 new members in the Tiruppur District Welfare Society.
Padmashri Dr. A. Sakthivel, Honorary Chairman, TEA, said that the Tiruppur District Welfare Society would focus on education, infrastructure, water management, agriculture, rural development and public health and called for collective action under the principle “Our Development, Our Responsibility.”
Dr. Narnavare Manish Shankarrao, IAS, District Collector, Tiruppur, emphasised the importance of CSR contributions for district development and urged industries to support priority sectors including education, healthcare, solid waste management and infrastructure. He also appreciated the Rs. 33 crore industry contribution towards the proposed Rs. 100-crore cancer treatment centre.
A presentation was also made on the development requirements of Tiruppur District for the financial year 2026–27. Priority projects have been identified across 17 major sectors, with the objective of benefiting approximately 9 lakh marginalised and vulnerable people in the district.
During the event, TEA office-bearers committed approximately Rs. 55 lakh to the Tiruppur District Welfare Society for education, healthcare, rural development and social welfare initiatives.
Mrs. A. Punitha Anthoniyammal, Chief Educational Officer, Tiruppur District, proposed the vote of thanks.
Earlier, the contributors to the Tiruppur District Welfare Society were felicitatsed.
