Mr Kumar Duraiswamy, Joint Secretary, TEA highlighted the importance of the tax structure in the development of the Indian economy and acknowledged Tiruppur’s commitment to timely tax payments. He also mentioned that the recent FTA with the UK and the ongoing BTA with the US will benefit Tiruppur’s exporters.
Mr N Thirukkumaran, General Secretary, TEA emphasized the significance of the recent changes in TDS/TCS provisions and the importance of proper tax filing to avoid penalties for exporters. He noted that the program was timely and essential for TEA members especially in light of upcoming FTAs. He also stated that considering the current geopolitical situation, Tiruppur is expected to double its export growth in the coming years.
Mr. Alagarsamy V , Income Tax Officer (TDS), Tiruppur provided an overview of TDS/TCS regulations related to salary, rent, interest income and professional fees.
CTPr S. Arunkumar explained the new TDS/TCS provisions introduced under the Finance Bill 2025 and the associated penalties.
Mr. M. Kalidas, TDS Trainer elaborated on common TDS defaults and how they can be effectively prevented through proactive measures.
