Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Camps for Women at TEA Member Units

TIRUPUR STAKEHOLDERS FORUM (TSF) an initiative of Tiruppur Exporters’ Association (TEA) and TEA – Women Empowerment sub-committee in collaboration with Tirupur Thirumuruganpoondi Rotary Club are regularly conducting awareness programs on breast cancer and cervical cancer for women in their member units.
After the awareness camps, TEA – Women Empowerment Sub-Committee, with the co-operation of Coimbatore Medical Center & Hospitals (KMCH) and Rotary Clubs of Mettupalayam and Thirumuruganpoondi organize breast and cervical screening camps at their member units under the “PROJECT HEAL” scheme of Rotary to help detect breast cancer in its early stages using a high-cost mobile screening van equipped with digital 3D technology. Such a screening camp was held held on 20th September 2024 at BNT Innovations Private Limited.
More than 70 women above the age of forty participated in this screening camp and were benefited. In this event, KMCH Medical Team, PROJECT HEAL Project Team, President of Thirumuruganpoondi Rotary Club Dr. D Karthikeyan, Chairman of TEA Women Empowerment Sub-Committee Mrs. Sumita Ravi and members Mrs. P. Suganthi were present.
Managing Director of BNT Innovations Mr. V. Sethu Madhavan inaugurated the screening camp.
CEO of BNT Innovations and member of TEA Women Empowerment Subcommittee Mrs. Shruthika Sethu coordinated the event.
President of TEA Mr. K.M. Subramanian said about this screening activity. Following awareness programs for women, screening camps are also conducted in the member units. If any of the lady who took the screening test require treatment, it is also provided free of charge. Therefore, he asked the women workers to dispel their fears and benefit by participating in such awareness programs and screening camps.
