Free Medical Checkup Camp jointly organized by the Women Empowerment Sub-Committee of TEA, Tirupur Stakeholders Forum, the Rotary Club of Tirupur Smart City and IMA New Tirupur – 16 May 2026 at Dhikksha Exports

A Free Medical Checkup Camp for the workers of Dhikksha Exports was jointly organized by the Women Empowerment Sub-Committee of TEA, Tirupur Stakeholders Forum, the Rotary Club of Tirupur Smart City and IMA New Tirupur, with the support of Revathi Medical Centre, Tirupur Chest Hospital and The Eye Foundation, Tirupur on 16 May 2026. The objective of the camp was to check blood pressure and diabetes levels, identify heart-related and lung related issues, eye checkup and prescribe medicines where required.

Rtn. PHF. M. Muthukumar, Project Chairman, Rotary Club of Tirupur Smart City, welcomed all the participants and noted that three buses had been arranged for the health camp, offering services such as echocardiogram tests for individuals with abnormal blood pressure and sugar levels, Breath Easy treatment for lung-related problems and eye care services. He further noted that workers rarely undergo regular health checkup and that this initiative aims to identify and treat diabetes, blood pressure, heart and lung-related problems at an early stage.

Rtn. AKS. P. Arulselvam, President, Rotary Club of Tirupur Smart City, in his address, thanked Mr. P. Parthasarathi, Managing Director, Tubeknit Fashions Limited, and Mr. C. Elango, Partner, Dhikksha Exports, Executive Committee Member, TEA and Women Empowerment Sub-Committee, TEA, for organizing the medical camp. He advised all workers to undergo regular medical checkup and take proper care of their health.

Rtn. MD Dr. K. Bommusamy, Secretary Admin, Rotary Club of Tirupur Smart City, in his address, noted that Tirupur Chest Hospital is the only hospital specialized in treating lung-related diseases. He also thanked the management of Dhikksha Exports for organizing the camp for their workers to help identify health issues at an early stage, as early diagnosis makes prevention and treatment easier. He further noted that many people do not wear masks regularly, which increases the risk of lung diseases and stated that this camp would be very useful in diagnosing and treating such conditions.

Mr. P. Parthasarathi, Managing Director, Tubeknit Fashions Limited, in his address, thanked all the dignitaries for taking this initiative. He noted that the export sector involves pressure across all departments in factories. He further stated that work pressure, along with personal responsibilities, often lead to increased blood pressure and other health issues. Since it is not always possible for workers to undergo annual health checkup, he said that this camp would help identify health issues at an early stage. He therefore requested all the workers to make full use of the camp.

Mrs. Shrutika Sethu Madhavan, Chairman, Women Empowerment Sub-Committee, TEA, shared her insights about the camp and thanked the management of Dhikksha Exports for cooperating for the medical camp for their workers. She appreciated the initiative, noting that while all companies are focused on meeting deliveries and deadlines, Dhikksha Exports had taken special efforts to conduct this camp for the welfare of their employees. She further stated that all preliminary tests would be conducted at the camp itself and workers need not to go elsewhere for initial screening. She therefore requested all the workers to make full use of the opportunity.

Mrs. V. Surithi, Vice-Chairman, Women Empowerment Sub-Committee, TEA delivered the Vote of Thanks and appreciated the contributions of all participants, speakers and organizers.
