Ongoing Breast and Cervical Cancer Awareness Program for Women at TEA Member Unit Factories

TIRUPUR STAKEHOLDERS FORUM – TSF and TEA – Women Empowerment Sub-Committee jointly organized an awareness program on Breast Cancer and Cervical Cancer for women on 11th September 2024 in collaboration with Rotary Club of Tirupur Thirumuruganpoondi. It was held at SNQS Internationals Pvt Ltd., a member company of Tiruppur Exporters Association. Treasurer of Tiruppur Exporters Association Mr. R. Gopalakrishnan presided over the program and the association’s Joint Secretary Mr. T. Chinnasamy, Membership Sub-Committee Chairman. R.K. Sivasubramaniam, Chairman Business Promotion, Branding and Sustainability Sub-Committee Mr. M. Anand were also present. TEA – Women Empowerment Sub-Committee Chairman Mrs. Sumita Ravi, Vice Chairman Mrs. Sudha Sivasubramaniam and Members Mrs. Suganthi and Mrs. Shruthika Sethu, Gynaecologist Dr. Anitha Vijay, President of Thirumuruganpoondi Rotary Club Dr. D. Karthikeyan, Zonal Coordinator of the project Mr. V. G. Anand Ram participated in the program.
The Managing Directors of SNQS Internationals Private Limited, Mr. V. Elangovan and Smt. Santhy Elangovan welcomed the gathering and coordinated the program.
Treasurer of TEA Mr. R. Gopalakrishnan while speaking, mentioned that TEA through its Women Empowerment sub-committee is trying to bring to all the member units of Tirupur such series of awareness programs aimed at the welfare of women workers with the co-operation of Rotary club. Apart from the industrial development of Tirupur, many social welfare works are also being carried out by TEA. He highlighted in detail that not only the awareness program for the welfare of women but also experimental camps are conducted and the welfare of women is protected.
Mrs. Sudha Sivasubramaniam, Vice Chairman, Women Empowerment Sub-Committee while speaking, thanked Mr. V. Elangovan Vice President of TEA and Chairman of TSF who is providing all support and guidance to TEA – Women Empowerment Sub-Committee for this project and Dr. Anitha Vijay, Gynaecologist, who has extended her full cooperation on behalf of the Rotary Club for this project.
Zonal coordinator of the project Mr. V.G. Anand Ram and Dr. S. Karthikeyan, President of Rotary Club of Thirumuruganpoondi, explained about the project, the purpose of the project and how beneficial the project is for women.
Gynaecologist Dr. Anita Vijay explained all the symptoms of breast cancer and cervical cancer in women and the effects of cancer and also explained the prevention methods in detail.
President of the Association Mr. K.M. Subramanian speaking about this, said that among the many social welfare projects being carried out by the Tirupur Exporters Association, this awareness program for welfare of women is one of the most important. He further said that we are regularly organizing such events. He said that the main objective is to protect the welfare of the workers of Tirupur.
